华纳影业日前官宣，将为创造了票房奇迹的亚裔电影《摘金奇缘》开发衍生电影，影片将聚焦嘉玛·陈和岑勇康饰演的梁阿丝（Astrid Young Teo）和吴查理（Charlie Wu）的感情纠葛。
原著中，Charlie是Astrid的初恋，两人曾订婚，但女方父母认为他不是合适的丈夫人选而拆散了他们。电影里，Astrid在发现丈夫Michael出轨后离婚，她在Nick和Rachel的订婚派对上重遇Charlie，而影片的剧本将由Jason Kim撰写，嘉玛·陈等原班人马是否回归，还有待官宣。
电影《摘金奇缘》于2018年上映，影片中所表现的纸醉金迷的生活，满足不少观众对于亚洲富豪的想象。最终，影片收获了2.3亿美元的全球票房，这也使得制作方决定拍摄两部续集。据了解，这两部续集同样改编自凯文·关的两部小说：《中国富豪女友》以及《富人的烦恼》，目前也正在运作中。
